Soprano Anna Cohen-Lendroth began her opera career as a soubrette in roles such as Despina (Cosi fan tutte), Adina (L’Elisir d’amore), Norina (Don Pasquale), Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos), and Musetta (La Boheme) with companies such as The Minnesota Opera, Opera St. Paul, Musetta (La Boheme) with companies such as The Minnesota Opera, Opera St. Paul, Opera/Columbus and Opera/Jackson. Ms. Cohen Lendroth was described as “lovely to look at and vocally electrifying” by Mike Steele, Minneapolis Star/Tribune. Ms. Cohen-Lendroth began singing the heavier dramatic repertoire after touring as Konigin der Nacht (Die Zauberflote) with Minnesota Opera’s National Tour.
Ms. Cohen Lendroth’s voice was described by Jerome Hines, Metropolitan Opera and OMTI President, as “a steely core in a cloak of velvet”. The enrichment enabled her to begin performing leading roles in Turandot, Ariadne, and Die Walkure as well as Elisabetta (Don Carlo), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) and Amelia (Un Ballo in Maschera).
Ms. Cohen-Lendroth was a Metropolitan Opera Regional First Runner-Up, and a former member of the Minnesota Opera Young Artist Program. She lives in NY, where she studies with Jay Pouhe (Metropolitan Opera, retired), and coaches with Richard Woitach.
