Soprano Tiffany Wharton is a recent graduate of Belmont University where she received her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance. At Belmont, Ms. Wharton was a two-time winner of the university's concerto/aria competition and performed the title role in Offenbach's La Perichole. In February of 2006, Ms. Wharton sang the role of the Strawberry Woman in a concert version of Porgy and Bess led by John Mauceri with the Nashville Symphony, recorded for the Decca label. Most recently, Ms. Wharton began collaboration with tenor Steve Amerson for an upcoming concert series, “Sacred Spaces”, which will be performed at the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia in July 2007. In October, Ms. Wharton made her Opera Memphis debut as Clara in Porgy and Bess. Ms. Wharton is originally from Memphis, TN and studies with Jocelyn Fisher.
