Tenor Stanley Wilson has an extensive background in classical music and appears regularly in both oratorio and operatic performances. Mr. Wilson’s opera credits include Gastone in La Traviata, Laurie in Mark Adamo’s Little Woman, Tanzmeister in Ariadne auf Naxos, El Rememdado in Carmen, Don Curzio in The Marriage of Figaro, Kaspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Aeneas in Dido and Aeneas, the Witch in Hansel and Gretel, Tinca in Il Tabarro and Gherardo in Gianni Schicchi.
 
While commiting time to various operatic educational projects, he appeared as Tamino in The Magic Flute. with the Bel Canto Music Festival of New Hampshire. He also collaborated with John Davies and the New England Opera Theatre in performances of The Three Little Pigs, an innovative children’s opera set to the music of selected operatic compositions by Mozart.
 
Concert work performances include the Bach Christmas Oratorio, Vivaldi Dixit Dominus, CPE Bach Magnificat, Handel Israel in Egypt and Messiah, Mozart Requiem, Great Mass in C Minor and Coronation Mass, Haydn Mass in the Time of War, Mendelssohn Elijah, Beethoven Choral Fantasy, Puccini Messa di Gloria, the premier of Gwyneth Walkers’ Come Life, Shaker Life, and Schubert Mass in B. He has sung with the Boston Classical Orchestra, New Bedford Symphony, the Salisbury Singers and Arcadia Orchestra, The Arlington Philharmonic, the Concord Chorus and Orchestra, the Manchester Chorale and Orchestra, the Master Singers of Worcester, the Assabet Valley Mastersingers, the Oratorio Choir of New Haven and the Concert Singers of Greater Lynn.
 
The tenor recently released “Stanley Wilson Sings Cole Porter” on CD with pianist/arranger Ben Cook of the Boston Pops. He is currently in production for a second CD, featuring songs by Robert Schumann, with pianist Malcolm Halliday. Wilson and Halliday regularly perform recital programs together in various venues throughout the Northeast.
 
Mr. Wilson was a finalist in the Boston Region of the NATS Competition in 2003. He holds a Master of Music from The Longy School of Music in Cambridge, an MA in Opera Performance, and studies with Douglas Kevin Wilson of New York City.
